Joseph Schiavoni
Joseph Schiavoni is a partner in the law firm of Schiavoni, Schiavoni, Bush & Muldowney Co., L.P.A. Although the focus of the firm will continue to be representing injured workers in their workers’ compensation claims and representing social security disability clients, the firm also provides legal services dealing with wills, power of attorneys, personal injury matters, and domestic and criminal law.
Joe has been a member of the Ohio State Bar Association since 2004 after graduating from Capital Law School in Columbus, Ohio. During law school, Joe worked for both Judge Durkin as his legal clerk and the law offices of Kevin Kurds, where he obtained both trial experience and personal injury knowledge. In 2008, Joe was appointed to the Ohio Senate, where he represented the Mahoning Valley in Columbus for the last decade.
As a legislator, he has always been a champion for workers, leading the fight to protect prevailing wage and collective bargaining rights for both public and private sector workers. He is also a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mahoning Valley, the Boardman Civic Association, The Italian American Education Foundation, Mahoning County Bar Association, and Ohio Association for Justice. Joe and his wife Margaret reside in Boardman with their children, Louie and Dominic.
Joseph Bush
Joseph Bush is a partner in the Youngstown law firm of Schiavoni, Schiavoni, Bush & Muldowney Co., L.P.A. where he practices mainly in the areas of Social Security Disability and Workers’ Compensation.
His Social Security Disability experience has allowed him to attend hundreds of Social Security hearings, and Atty. Bush also does trial work for the firm. He is a member of the Mahoning County and Ohio State Bar Associations and the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers.
He earned his B.A. degree from Youngstown State University and a J.D. degree from the University of Akron School of Law, where he clerked under Magistrate Charles Laurie, Magistrate to Federal District Court Judges Dowd and Bell. His duties included writing and editing Social Security opinions for the judges.
Shawn R. Muldowney
Shawn R. Muldowney is a partner in the Youngstown, Ohio law firm of Schiavoni, Schiavoni, Bush & Muldowney Co., L.P.A. where he practices in the area of workers’ compensation and personal injury. His experience includes serving as a District Hearing Officer for the State of Ohio in Youngstown service office for four years.
Subsequently, he has concentrated his legal practice on representing injured workers in workers’ compensation claims for over 25 years. He is a member of the Mahoning County Bar Association. He earned his B.A. degree from Kent State University and his J.D. degree from Capital Law School.
Louis Schiavoni
Louis Schiavoni is the former managing partner of the law firm, where he practices in the areas of Workers’ Compensation and Social Security disability. Atty. Schiavoni previously served as a claims examiner for the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, and he taught the course “Bureau of Workers’ Compensation” at A.T.S. Technical School in Niles, Ohio. He is a member of the Mahoning County, Ohio State, and American Bar Associations and the Ohio Academy of Trail Lawyers. He earned his B.A. degree from the Ohio State University and J.D. degree from Thomas M. Cooley School of Law. Atty. Schiavoni was named to the National Registry of Who’s Who. He is currently “of counsel” with the law firm.
